Sweet & Spicy Bowl | Ground Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon of creole seasoning (gradually increase by ½ teaspoon to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ¼ cup, your favorite BBQ sauce (we like Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ)
  • 2 tablespoons of your favorite hot sauce (we like Crystals Hot Sauce)
  • ½ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)

    Salad Ingredients


  • 1 cup shredded romaine
  • 1 cup shredded dinosaur kale
  • ¼ red onion, sliced thin
  • ⅓ cup shredded gouda cheese
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Ranch dressing (your favorite brand), drizzled on top

Directions

  1. In a non-stick sauté pan on medium heat, add the EVOO and let heat up. Add ground pork and season with creole seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook ground pork to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F with a 3-minute rest.

  2. Drain any excess grease.

  3. Lower heat to medium low. Add the BBQ sauce, hot sauce & apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. Toss kale & romaine leaves in a bowl.

  5. Add sliced red onions & cherry tomatoes.

  6. Add sweet & spicy ground pork.

  7. Top with shredded gouda cheese. Drizzle with your favorite ranch dressing.
