Ingredients

  • 6–8 store-bought croissants, halved or torn into large pieces
  • 2 cups left-over pre-cooked spiral-cut ham, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups whole milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder or onion powder
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Side: Fruit Salad

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.

  2. Tear or cut croissants into large chunks and layer them evenly in the prepared dish. Sprinkle chopped left-over ham over the croissants and top with shredded cheese.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard, and optional garlic/onion powder into a smooth custard. Pour the custard evenly over the croissants, ham, and cheese. Press down lightly to help the croissants absorb the custard.

  4. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, until the custard is set and the top is golden brown. Cook the eggs until the yolk and whites are firm – until the internal temperatures reaches 160 degrees F.

  5. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm. Serve with fruit salad.
