Jerk Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lbs. pork shoulder, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup jerk seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. seasoning salt
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar

Directions

  1. Rub the pork shoulder with jerk seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoning salt, ensuring it’s well coated.

  2. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker.

  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic around the pork.

  4. In a bowl, mix chicken broth, orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 68 hours or on high for 4-6 hours. Cook to an internal temperature of 180 degrees F to pull pork. 

  6. Once cooked, use two forks to shred the pork in the crockpot, mixing it with the flavorful sauce. Serve over rice or on Hawaiian rolls.
