Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Season both sides of the pork chops with paprika, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and chicken seasoning. In a large oven-safe skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the onions and peppers are soft and fragrant.
Sprinkle the flour over the cooked onions and peppers, stirring continuously to coat the vegetables. Cook for 1 minute. Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring to combine and prevent lumps. Once the sauce thickens, stir in the heavy whipping cream and let the gravy simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Place the seared pork chops back into the skillet, nestling them into the gravy. Spoon some of the gravy over the chops. Cover the skillet with foil or a lid and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145-160 degrees F with a 3-minute rest.
While the pork chops are baking, heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add a little oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes until soft. Add the drained green beans, garlic powder, onion powder, and chicken broth. Stir well, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Once the pork chops are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Serve the smothered pork chops with the green beans on the side, spooning extra gravy over the pork chops and green beans.
